A veritable breeding ground for excellence, Julien Masmondet’s conducting class gives students the opportunity to work with professional orchestral musicians, thanks to partnerships with Les Apaches, Orchestre Lamoureux, Orchestre de l’Opéra de Massy and Orchestre de l’Opéra Comique.

Each level has its own set of complementary teaching units, either compulsory or optional, depending on the curriculum chosen. Equivalence of studies may be granted.

PROGRAM

  • Gestique
  • Analysis and table work
  • One- and two-piano conducting sessions
  • Filmed conducting sessions with professional musicians
  • Video analysis

GENERAL ORGANIZATION

  • The class comprises a maximum of 10 students
  • Work sessions are organized over 3 weeks (10 sessions per year):
    • 1st session: table work
    • 2nd session: conducting 2 pianos
    • 3rd session: conducting an ensemble of professional musicians

Advanced training

Perfectionnement is a course of study in a professional class lasting 1 to 3 years.

It is open to students who have completed the school’s 3rd cycle or, for new students, by audition and presentation of a CV.

Classes take place at Salle Cortot (École Normale de Musique de Paris)
