Contact with the public is a crucial issue in the training of young artists. The school offers students in the preparatory classes for the higher diplomas many opportunities to perform in public.

Attached to the School since its creation, in accordance with Alfred Cortot’s wishes, the Salle Cortot is not a simple auditorium. A veritable art-deco jewel with acoustics renowned throughout Europe, it provides an exceptional space for expression for high-level students. Bathed in the aura of this 400-seat auditorium, a mecca of musical and cultural innovation for almost 100 years, students will be able to develop their musical sensitivity and learn to share it.

The Rencontres Musicales de Cortot

The Rencontres Musicales de Cortot are designed to introduce the public to the wealth of activities taking place at the school. Public classes by prestigious masters, recitals by laureates, teachers, young soloists from the school, concerts by the orchestra: each event is an opportunity to play, learn or meet up. This programme is free for all students and teachers of the school.

End-of-the-year public competition

The end-of-year competitions of the school’s higher cycles are organised at the Salle Cortot in the form of recitals. The aim is to put the candidates in a concert situation; spectators are welcome and admission is free.

The Laureate Concert The Concert des Lauréats brings together the candidates who have obtained their Artist Diploma with Mension Très Bien and the congratulations of the jury.
