BAROQUE STRING ORCHESTRA

Several workshops are organized for students registered in violin, viola, cello and double bass classes. Open to 6ème exécution students, students preparing the Diplôme Supérieur de Concertiste and Perfectionnement students.

ORCHESTRA

Orchestral Practice Certificate

The Orchestra Certificate is delivered under 3 conditions :

. passing the 1st round of Diplôme Supérieur d’Exécution
. Attending regularly the Ecole Normale Chamber Orchestra sessions for at least 2 years.
. Validating the 3rd division level in orchestral repertoire reading. *

* String students registered for Chamber Orchestra sessions may attend the 3rd division orchestral repertoire reading class for free

 

Orchestral repertoire reading
Complementary discipline

String students registered for Chamber Orchestra sessions may attend the 3rd division orchestral repertoire reading class for free in order to obtain the Orchestra Practice Certificate.

It consists in working on orchestra excerpts and sight-reading.

Open to string students who validated the 2nd level of sight-reading.
Free for the students registered for Chamber Orchestra sessions.

ENMP Chamber Orchestra

The chamber orchestra practice is a compulsory complementary discipline for string students preparing the Diplôme d’Exécution,  the Diplôme Supérieur d’Enseignement and the  Diplôme Supérieur d’Exécution.

Students preparing the Diplôme Supérieur de Concertiste or registered in advanced classes may also attend the chamber orchestra sessions.

The work is organized in 3 several days sessions throughout the year. Ech session will be concluded by a concert.

 

Experience in professional orchestras (Internships)

Orchestre Lamoureux (internship for students in strings classes) : french symphonic orchestra founded in 1881 and led by Fayçal Karoui, is one of the most popular groups playing french music today. Students from strings courses in Diplômes Supérieurs de Concertiste have the opportunity to participate in a certain number of concerts in prestigious concert halls such as Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Salle Gaveau…
Selection audition takes place during the first semester. The date is indicated in the “School Information”  page.

Orchestre de Chambre  Nouvelle Europe (internship for students in strings and winds classes): The Orchestre de Chambre Nouvelle Europe (« new Europe ») brings together young musicians from all around Europe who are living at the present time in Paris, France, and who share common extremely high musical and technical skills, as most of them are also starting their international careers as soloist and/or chamber players.
Selection audition takes place during the first semester. The date is indicated in the  “School Information” page.
