Maria Perrotta graduated with highest honors from the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan under the tutelage of Edda Ponti, and subsequently earned a Higher Diploma in Chamber Music from the “A. Cortot” École Normale de Musique in Paris.

After further studies at the “Incontri col Maestro” Academy in Imola with Franco Scala and Boris Petrushansky, as well as in Germany with Walter Blankenheim, she graduated in 2007 with honors from the Accademia Nazionale “Santa Cecilia” in Rome, where she studied with Sergio Perticaroli.

Her career as a concert pianist, which began at the age of 11 with Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 at the Cosenza Auditorium, has led her to perform at numerous festivals in Italy, France, Germany, Russia, Austria, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Switzerland.

She quickly established herself in major international competitions, notably the Rina Sala Gallo Competition in Monza, the Encore! Shura Cherkassky Prize, and the J.S. Bach Competition in Saarbrücken. The latter prize cemented her status on the international piano scene as a leading Bach interpreter, earning her widespread acclaim from both audiences and critics.

She is regularly invited to give masterclasses in Italy and France.

She has taught at several Italian Higher Conservatories, including those in Salerno, Venice, and Trento.

She is currently a full professor at the Higher Conservatory of her hometown, Cosenza.
