Pianist, chamber musician, and project director Christine Fonlupt has established herself as a prominent figure in the world of modern piano. Recently, she has performed at Salle Cortot, the Festival Berlioz, the Opéra Comique, the Institut de France, the Amphithéâtre Bastille, the Philharmonie de Paris, and in the theaters of the Comédie Française, Lucernaire, and Nesle, as well as at the Avignon Festival, collaborating with artists such as Anne Baquetand William Mesguich.
Her discography includes a solo piano album featuring works by Fauré, Debussy, and Chausson from the 1890s (Passavant Music), two albums of Argentine tango with the Encuentro Tango Quintet (Buda Music and Passavant Music), and recordings of Eric Lebrun’s works (Chanteloup).
Currently, she is performing in several productions: Le Phoenix de ses dames (Studio Hébertot), Come Bach (Théâtre du Lucernaire), La girafe confite (Théâtre de Nesle), and Piazzolla y Poetas.
Her teachers included Christian Bernard, Janine Collet, Bruno Rigutto, and Nicholas Angelich, first at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional (CRR) of Grenoble, and later at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse (CNSMD) of Paris.
She is the artistic director of the association Arteka 11, which organizes numerous concerts throughout France. Deeply committed to passing on her passion to the next generation of musicians, she founded the Piano Orchestra project (an orchestra of pianos) and teaches at the CNSM of Paris, the École Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot, and the CRR of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés (94).
A recognized pedagogue, she has trained many generations of students, and in September 2025, Paul Lecocq, whom she has mentored since his beginnings, was awarded the Grand Prix Clara Haskil.
