Since its inception, the School has offered public masterclasses led by leading figures in the music world. In this context, the School has already benefited from the participation of renowned artists and teachers, including Alfred Cortot, Pablo Casals, Samson François, Mstislav Rostropovich, Thomas Hampson, and, more recently, Jean-Claude Casadesus, Yo-Yo Ma, Maria João Pires, Barbara Hannigan, Emmanuel Pahud, and Roger Muraro.
These masterclasses take place in Salle Cortot and are open to students from the School’s upper-level programs. They are part of the School’s musical season, the Cortot Musical Encounters. Admission is free for students of the School.
