A laureate of numerous international competitions, he was awarded the <strong>2021 OPUS Klassik<\/strong>. He performs as a soloist with prestigious orchestras such as the <strong>Royal Philharmonic Orchestra<\/strong> in London, the <strong>Deutsche Radiophilharmonie<\/strong>, <strong>NDR Radiophilharmonie<\/strong>, <strong>Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg<\/strong>, <strong>Kremerata Baltica<\/strong>, <strong>MDR Symphony Orchestra<\/strong>, and the <strong>Munich Chamber Orchestra<\/strong>. His career has brought him into collaboration with renowned conductors including <strong>Daniel Barenboim<\/strong>, <strong>Christoph Eschenbach<\/strong>, <strong>Michael Sanderling<\/strong>, <strong>Ingo Metzmacher<\/strong>, <strong>Vladimir Fedoseyev<\/strong>, <strong>Cristian M\u0103celaru<\/strong>, and <strong>Sir Simon Rattle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has performed in some of the world\u2019s most prestigious venues, including the <strong>Berlin Philharmonie<\/strong>, <strong>Carnegie Hall<\/strong> in New York, the <strong>Kennedy Center<\/strong> in Washington, <strong>Suntory Hall<\/strong> in Tokyo, the <strong>Musikverein<\/strong> in Vienna, <strong>Tonhalle<\/strong> in Zurich, and <strong>Concertgebouw<\/strong> in Amsterdam. Kloeckner is also a regular guest at international festivals, sharing the stage with artists such as <strong>Emanuel Ax<\/strong>, <strong>Lisa Batiashvili<\/strong>, <strong>Gidon Kremer<\/strong>, and <strong>Anne-Sophie Mutter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For over 10 years, he has been the <strong>artistic director<\/strong> of the <strong>International Music Festival Koblenz (IMUKO)<\/strong>, which he founded. He opens the 2024\u20132025 season performing <strong>Haydn\u2019s Cello Concerto<\/strong> under the baton of <strong>Rapha\u00ebl Merlin<\/strong>, and will appear alongside <strong>Augustin Dumay<\/strong>, <strong>Lawrence Power<\/strong>, and <strong>Leon Botstein<\/strong>. He will make his debut in Budapest with <strong>Andr\u00e1s Keller<\/strong> and <strong>J\u00e1nos Bal\u00e1zs<\/strong> at the Liszt Academy and will return to the <strong>Elbphilharmonie Hamburg<\/strong> and <strong>Concertgebouw Amsterdam<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His latest album, <em>Dvo\u0159\u00e1k<\/em>, recorded with <strong>Cristian M\u0103celaru<\/strong>, the <strong>Romanian Chamber Orchestra<\/strong>, and <strong>Danae D\u00f6rken<\/strong>, was released in 2024 by Berlin Classics and has already surpassed <strong>600,000 streams<\/strong>. <em>The Strad<\/em> magazine praised Kloeckner\u2019s \u201caddictive and sensual tone,\u201d while <em>Gramophone<\/em> highlighted the \u201carchitectural sensitivity of Cristian M\u0103celaru and Benedict Kloeckner.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new recording of <strong>Elgar\u2019s Cello Concerto<\/strong> with <strong>Cristian M\u0103celaru<\/strong> is set for release in <strong>2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2023, his recording of <strong>Brahms\u2019s Cello Sonatas<\/strong> with <strong>Yu Kosuge<\/strong> was released by <strong>Sony<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His discography also includes the <strong>complete Bach Cello Suites<\/strong>, which he performed at both the <strong>Berlin Philharmonie<\/strong> and the <strong>Alte Oper Frankfurt<\/strong>. His recordings, acclaimed by the press, have won prestigious awards such as the <strong>OPUS Klassik Award<\/strong> and the <strong>Supersonic Award<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upcoming performances include <strong>Brahms\u2019s Double Concerto<\/strong> at the <strong>Cologne Philharmonie<\/strong> with <strong>Kirill Troussov<\/strong> under <strong>Gabriel Bebeselea<\/strong>, <strong>Dvo\u0159\u00e1k\u2019s Cello Concerto<\/strong> at <strong>De Doelen in Rotterdam<\/strong> with <strong>Conrad van Alphen<\/strong>, a tour featuring <strong>Shostakovich\u2019s Cello Concerto No. 1<\/strong> with <strong>Oscar Jockel<\/strong>, and <strong>Tan Dun\u2019s \u201cCrouching Tiger\u201d Cello Concerto<\/strong> conducted by the composer himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A passionate advocate of contemporary music, Kloeckner collaborates closely with living composers and has premiered numerous works, including those by <strong>Wolfgang Rihm<\/strong>, <strong>Eun Hwa Cho<\/strong>, <strong>Eric Tanguy<\/strong>, and <strong>Dai Fujikura<\/strong>.
