VIOLIN – VIOLA – CELLO – DOUBLE BASS

The School’s string department (violin, viola, cello, double bass) allows its students to explore their practice as soloists, but also as chamber and ensemble musicians through its partnerships with professional orchestras.

Each level has its own set of complementary teaching units, either mandatory or optional, depending on the course of study chosen.

Preparatory Cycle

Artist Diploma

(3e Cycle Supérieur)

TEACHING UNITS

  • Individual instrument lessons
  • Career management workshop. This workshop consists of 5 sessions from October to March. The program of the sessions consists mainly of case studies. It covers the following topics: legal and social status of the professional musician, contracts, writing CVs and professional promotion, specificities of the actors in the musical world, search for patronage.
  •  Sight-reading orchestra repertoire (1 to 2 years)

Advanced Class

(Cycle de perfectionnement)

The advanced class is a professionalization cycle lasting from 1 to 3 years.

It is accessible to students who have completed the 3rd cycle of the institution (artist diploma) or, for new students, by audition and presentation of a CV.
