PRESENTATION :
The bi-centennial of César Franck’s birth is an opportunity for this academy to approach the many questions around the organ works of the Franco Belgian composer. His fundamental work deserves a thorough study on an esthetic, historical and cultural point of view as well as on its technical and instrumental aspect.
The professors, Daniel Roth and Vincent Warnier, the professors, will teach together to share their deep knowledge of this repertoire, using two of the Paris emblematic organs : the Cavaillé-Coll organ (1862) at Saint-Sulpice and the Cavaillé-Col-Beuchet-Debierre organ (1956) at Saint-Etienne-Du-Mont.
In order to place César Franck’s artistic heritage in a historical perspective, the students will have the opportunity to perform works composed in the wake of the Sainte-Clotilde organist’s esthetic.
